August 13th Second Friday

Meet Richard Schmidt of Shore Builders. Rich will be on site for the evening to answer your questions and discuss your needs to build a Garden Structure.

If you are thinking of building a deck, pergola, fence or other addition to your garden,

Rich can do it.

Bring pictures and ideas and come in and talk to Rich. Appointments for site visits will be made at this time.

Second Friday’s in Onancock

A fun way to spend a Friday night in Onancock.

Many shops and galleries open from 5-8pm on the second Friday of each month; April through December, for an evening art stroll.

Mark your calendar each month and be sure to attend. Many of our talented local artists are showcased at each venue. Participating businesses are located on Market, North and King Streets and include:

Dawn, Next Door Gallery, North Street Market, Red Queen Gallery Onancock, Jack Richardson Gallery, gardenART on King St., greatspace ETC., Purl's, Onancock General Store to name a few.

Many of our award winning restaurants are open and may feature specials, and some offer nightly entertainment just ask.

Make an evening of it, meet with friends and neighbors, enjoy our local talent and support our town businesses.

Mark your Calendar ~

Paint Onancock Plein Air will be held October 5-8. The exhibit and reception to unveil the finished art will be held at both gardenART on King St and the Red Queen Gallery Onancock on Friday evening, October 8th during Second Friday.

New this Year!

The WET PAINT CHALLENGE Saturday October 9th 9am-12 noon Painters will be at their easels at the gazebo and in the downtown districtfor a 3 hour paint-out. Judges will judge at noon and painting will be for sale until 3 pm. More information available at :

Plein Air 2009 was a Great Success!

Following 2 beautiful, sunny days of artists at their easels around the town of Onancock,

on Wed Oct 7 & Thursday Oct 8, Second Friday was the grand unveiling of the fresh completed works. 24 artists painted a total of 65 works and the results were stunning!

Debra Sullivan took 1st place, Connie Schlee took , 2nd place and Willie Crockett took 3rd as judged by Carol Lee Thompson. Participating artists selected Anne Holland and Tara Funk Grim as their choice for Best Artist and those attendees (you), voted Willie Crockett as your All of the artwork was on display at gardenART on King St and the Red Queen Gallery.
